Bob, Justin, Dave met again to talk about email, backup/redundancy of our Unix hosts. We need to install an IMAP daemon on our Unix email server to test these clients. Erik is working on this. - Student access to Unix server room (next to Garnet's office). Dave and Carm are to check all student assistant's keys (ck. w/ Jean Green) before our next meeting to be certain they can only enter Garnet's office door. As a reminder, we agreed to the following guidelines (please share with Erik and any other assistants who have keys): * Student Assts. should NOT change the settings of ANY telephone or computer outside the Unix server room (i.e., volume levels, etc.). * Student Assts. should NOT bring others with them into offices/rooms who are not working for us. * There should be no access to rooms outside the Unix server room and Garnet's office. Student Assts. may use Garnet's phone/computer as long as they do not change settings, etc. Keys to Kellas and the Unix server room will be the only ones given to our assistants. - Network Services WWW page. New Business: - Brenda proposed monitoring the number of calls being made to our modem pools. She reports that there have been very few calls to our 1200 baud modems for quite some time. She will monitor the LanRover hunt groups (x3342, 3343, 2727) and send the report to Justin and Bob. * We will post all of our modem numbers on our WWW server. Brenda will send the list to Bob (1200, 2400, 9600, LanRover telephone #'s) and to Carm. - Carm will talk to Erik about the problems he continues to report with our 9600 baud modems. - Dave will assume Joan's "postmaster" responsibilities as soon as he changes the email-forwarding for the postmaster email address. - Justin will password-protect access to our *internal* www server. 3.
