1. Do you have plans for special initiatives and/or projects for the 96-97 school year that involve technology? -- for your students, your faculty, your department? a. Dave Hanson needs an replacement for his 386 computer (monochrome). A request to do this will be sent to Dean Pletcher. b. Pat Turbett's course, "Computer Applications in the Social Sciences", will be a regularly offered course beginning in the fall. This course could become a required course for Sociology majors. c. Steve Sweet is using Flagg 162 computer classroom for his Research Methods course and will continue to do so. d. Frank McLaughlin will be using Kellas 105 for his Introduction to to Sociology course in the fall. He will want to use a CD-ROM (for music and other purposes as he becomes familiar with available resources) and computer-based presentations. e. The department will be working with the library staff in support of the Library's pilot project in Satterlee Hall. 2. Student Computing Access Program (SCAP) proposals: a. Upgrade the Flagg 162 facility to take advantage of the latest software. This should include an upgrade of the hardware and the operating system (Windows 95 or NT). Consult with Pat Turbett and Steve Sweet on their needs for this upgrade. 3. What are your most important concerns and priorities for the 96-97 school year? -- for your students, your faculty, your department? a. Upgrading the Flagg 162 facility. 4. How can we improve our services and support to meet your needs? - No particular concerns over moving Levitt Center to Kellas or moving the Mac classroom to the library.
