Interview:  Charlies Marshall (via phone) - Computer & Information Sciences

     Date:  5/2/96


1. Do you have plans for special initiatives and/or projects for the 96-97 
   school year that involve technology?  -- for your students, your faculty, 
   your department?

   a. Charles Marshall will be offering Maple and AutoCAD as 1-credit service
      courses next school year.  He will need more Pentium based computers
  .   to conduct these classes and will use the Flagg 162 facility if it is
      upgraded as proposed.

   b. Linux will be used as the operating system for CIS majors.

   c. If Flagg 162 is upgraded as proposed, then CIS would like to have the 
      486sx computers from that facility moved to the Dunn student computing 
      area.

   d. Charles would like to replace his 486 computer with a Pentium.



2. Student Computing Access Program (SCAP) proposals:

   a. Obtain sufficient copies of AutoCAD and Maple for students enrolled in
      the 1-credit service courses.

   b. Move 486sx computers from Flagg 162 to Dunn 358.



3. What are your most important concerns and priorities for the 96-97 school 
   year?  -- for your students, your faculty, your department?

   a. Obtain sufficient copies of AutoCAD and Maple software.

   b. Move 486sx computers from Flagg 162 to Dunn 358.

   c. Replace 486 computer with Penitium for Charles Marshall.



4. How can we improve our services and support to meet your needs? 

   a. There are no particular concerns with relocating the Levitt Center or
      moving the Kellas Computer Classroom to Crumb Library (where the Levitt
      Center is currently located).
