Joe Vaadi enters his fourth year at the helm of the men’s soccer program after serving as assistant coach in 1994 and 1995. Vaadi is also a health and physical education instructor.

SUNY Potsdam Head Coach Joe Vaadi is hopeful that the 2000 season will bring many improvements. With 14 returning players from last year’s team, this team will look to improve on its 4-12 record of a year ago. Six starters return to the team, bringing increased leadership both on and off the field.

The 1999 season saw the exit of five seniors, Joe Knox, Steve Conger, Jason Hassos, Rob Szmarz, and Eric Schwerzmann. Joe Knox was a second team SUNYAC All Conference and third team regional All- American. Freshman Brian Sias was named an honorable mention SUNYAC All Conference pick.

The Bears will once again play in the State University Athletic Conference and the 2000 schedule features games with conference rivals as well as North Country rivals. Our schedual features 1999 national champions St. Lawrence University, along with national powers Plattsburgh, Fredonia, and Clarkson.
