Supervisor's Team
                         Meeting minutes
                            (3/9/95)

Attending: Bob, Doug, Manola, Carm, Brenda

1. Old Business:

   - Departmental interview process. Doug reports that most interviews are
done or will be over the next week. He is confident we will be able to
meet our April 1 target for the first draft of the SCAP proposal being
     presented to ACAC.

   - Administrative Equipment Replacement. Bob talked with Bill Fisher and
sent him our list. However, Bill may not have the funds he originally
planned upon. He indicated what items would have a higher priority than
others (work tables, chair) and what items stood very little chance
     (copier, car or van)

   - Carson project. Doug is trying not to spend money until we know the
layout in Carson 101 will work out. As a result, he is "scrounging"
furniture to use temporarily. Brenda mentioned that the table in the
backroom of our Kellas offices can be used temporarily.

   - Bob's visit to Ft. Drum on Tuesday, 3/7 to view their video
conferencing facility. (see minutes from Network Services Team meeting)

   - Timbuktu - Priority List for Installation from Bruce Buchanan. Doug will
meet with Dave and Justin to work out a plan of action to do this.

   - Orientation '95. We need to address this soon since the committee that is
organizing the orientation sessions is now meeting. Brenda and the Carson
group (Distributed Computing/Student Computing) will work on a proposal.
Carm will check with Chip to determine what role he will need to fill for
orientation this year since it is quite different from past years.

2. New Business:

   - PEOPLE:

     Dave's re-appointment has been submitted.
Joan and Mike Conlon's re-appointments are due 3/31 to Peter.
Bob mentioned that he would like to discuss guidelines for travelling. He
will bring this up at a later date.
Bob mentioned that Cynthia Lucia has indicated a willingness to work on
projects that we have going or intend to get going.
The St. Lawrence County Summer Youth Employment program may become
available again this year. It has not been offered over the past few
years because of union complaints over hiring students to do "union"
work. When more details are available we may want to consider this.
Bob will be sending our departmental mission statement to the ISD
Directors for their review and comment.

   - PUBLIC RELATIONS:

Bob will tabled his proposal on handling complaints until a later date.

   - BUDGET/FISCAL MATTERS:

Brenda presented her budget for the remainder of the fiscal year
        (6/30/95).
Bob will prepare a spreadsheet that lists obligations we have to fund that
we know about (printing, software, travel) as well as a spreadsheet
on lapsing funds requests. This will be discussed at the next meeting.

Brenda wants to submit a proposal for dealing with MTN's telephone service
        for the 1995 season.

3. Important Goals to be accomplished by 3/16:

   - complete departmental interviews
   - finalize our budget and start submitting PO's after the 3/16 meeting

NEXT meeting: Thursday, 3/16 @ 8am.
