                         Meeting minutes
                            (3/2/95)


Attending:  Bob, Doug, Manola, Carm, Brenda


1. Old Business:

   - Departmental interview process.  Doug reports that he has 2 departments
     left to interview (History/Drama); not sure about Dave/Justin.  Interviews
     will be summarized and be available to the department, with the completion
     of interviews as the first priority.   We are working toward an April 1 
     target for the first draft of the SCAP proposal being presented to ACAC.

   - Administrative Equipment Replacement (RE: memo from B. Fisher).  Discussed
     departmental requests and priorities.  The final prioritized list was:

       1. replacement work table for Karen Terriah and Brenda Bennett
       2. replacement of Carson office furniture (public and office areas)
       3. a Carson office copier
       4. a Carson office FAX
       5. replace Karen's chair with one that adjusts properly for Karen's
          workstation
 
       Other items:
       * Brenda feel certain that Bill will replace the Kellas copier as he has 
         promised to do.

       * Bob will talk to Bill about the possibility of acquiring a station
         wagon or van for transporting equipment around campus.


   - Bob reported on the possible 3%/5%/10% budget reduction. We have been
     told that at the 3% and 5% levels, the cuts must be made in PSR dollars,
     not S&E.

   - Bob will be going to Ft. Drum on Tuesday, 3/7 to view their video 
     conferencing facility.

   - Manola notified departments through a message in the Reporter to 
     let us know if they have old phones to be turned in.


2. Important Goals to be accomplished by 3/9:

   - continue dept. interviews



3. New Business:

   - PEOPLE:

     Dave's reappointments was due to Peter Brouwer on 3/3.  It will be late.


   - PUBLIC RELATIONS:

     Bob will tabled his proposal on handling complaints until the next 
     meeting.


   - BUDGET/FISCAL MATTERS:

     We need to finalize our needs for student Temp Service workers for this
     summer.

     We should begin identifying items that might be purchased with any 
     departmental lapsing funds.
