Supervisor's Team
                         Meeting minutes
                            (2/23/95)

Attending: Bob, Doug, Manola, Carm, Brenda

1. Old Business:

   - Departmental interview process. Doug reports that the interview process is
still going well. At least 8-9 departments have been interviewed to date.

   - Key systems (old phone system). Manola has collected all remaining Key
systems except Crane and MTN. (NOTE: Brian O'Brian is sorting through
all of the phones and placing them in Knowles.)

   - Administrative Equipment Replacement (RE: memo from B. Fisher). Discussed
     possible departmental requests. Suggestions included:

       * a station wagon or van for transporting equipment around campus
       * a replacement for the Kellas copier
       * a Carson office copier
       * a Carson office FAX
       * replacement of Carson office furniture
       * replacement work table for Karen Terriah and Brenda Bennett
       * replace Karen's chair with one that adjusts properly for Karen's work-
         station

Bill Fisher wants the requests to be identified as repair/replacement/new
along with an estimated cost for the item and a brief justification.
We agreed to put forward those requests for that we provide justification
for. (NOTE: I've only heard from Brenda on this so far.)

   - Bob gave a *very* brief description of what the Carson Office/Distributed
Computing group was working on. Minutes from those meetings will be
     available soon.

   - Reviewed our plan for meeting a possible 3%/5%/10% budget reduction.
Brenda will look into whether it is reasonable to look further into
generating additional revenue through telephone tolls.

2. Important Goals to be accomplished by 3/2:

   - Manola will notify departments again through a message in the Reporter to
let us know if they have old phones to be turned in.

   - continue dept. interviews

   - determine if there is a reason that we cannot hire students this summer
(NOTE: no one in ISD knows of any reason that we cannot hire).

3. New Business:

   - PEOPLE:

Reviewed status of Garnet and Dave's reappointments which are due to
     Peter Brouwer on 3/3.

   - PUBLIC RELATIONS:

Bob will tabled his proposal on handling complaints until the next
     meeting.

   - BUDGET/FISCAL MATTERS:

We need to finalize our needs for student Temp Service workers for this
     summer.

We should begin identifying items that might be purchased with any
     departmental lapsing funds.

NEXT meeting: Thursday, 3/2 @ 8am.
