Brown-Bag list message You are probably aware that the campus has been scheduled for a campus-wide power outage on Sunday (6/4). We've had numerous calls about whether offices should turn off their computing and printing equipment prior to Sunday. The short answer is "YES!". Before you leave your office for the weekend, be sure to turn the power OFF to ALL of your computing and printing equipment. You do *not* need to unplug it. Campus network services *will* be available until 10pm Saturday night (6/3). After 10pm on Saturday (6/3), network services will *not* be available until 8am Monday morning (6/5). This will include email, modem access to the network, World-Wide Web, Gopher, NetNews, etc. If you have any particular concerns relating to this power outage, they should be addressed to the following offices: - Concerns pertaining to the VAX or use of Banner should be directed to Central Computing (phone: x2089). Be sure to read NEWS posted on the VAX! - Concerns pertaining to desktop computing and/or printers should be directed to Distributed Computing/Telemedia (phone: x3000) - Concerns pertaining to loss of power should be directed to Tony DiTullio (phone: x2136)
