Here are the notes I have from our meeting with Russ Nelson (3/18)
regarding separate TCP/IP-host services for our residential network. Let
me know if this information needs correction:

1. DNS is the biggest resource "hog" of all of our TCP/IP host services

2. We need a separate IP subnet for our residential network. We should set
up the router between our 2 campus networks so that bootp requests don't
    cross the IP subnets.

3. The design for separate hosts, using existing equipment, would be as follows:

Residential LAN TCP/IP-host services (router between here and main campus LAN)
------------------------------------

   Ultrix box functions
   --------------------
    - POP3 mail server for students
    - SMTP (or QMail) server for students
    - Interactive accounts

   Sun SPARC station 1
   -------------------
    - bootp for residential LAN hosts
    - Secondary DNS
    - NetNews server

Main campus LAN TCP/IP-host services (router between here and residential LAN)
------------------------------------

   Sun SPARC station 2
   -------------------
   - campus email hub
   - POP3 server for faculty/staff
   - Primary DNS
   - bootp for main campus LAN hosts
