2. Meeting Goals for today:

   - Review our progress on NST priorities:

       to be completed before start of school year (8/28)

       to be completed in September


   - Review minutes/assignments made in last team meeting (7/19):
     

      * Shiva LANRover problems/update.  (Justin)

      * Coordinating/scheduling overage/intervention on network problems
        with HELPDESK operation--epecially during 1st two weeks of classes.
        (Bob)
       
      *  AppleTalk routing recommendations (from NJ workshop) 
          (Carm, Justin)  

         1. we should increase our AppleTalk network range from 1 - 9, to
            1 - 20.

         2. we should consider making all of our routers "seed" routers in 
            order to avoid problems with our current slow start-up seed router.
       * Switch hub - status; does this need to be done before 8/28?

       * Underground cable - NYNEX (Carm)

       * Keeping team informed of projects pending/waiting--how is
         this working? (Brenda)

   - Other items:
      
       * Public usage of Potsdam computers and postings to the Internet.
         How can we secure access to the Internet?  Should we implement
         the equivalent of a "library card" (i.e., account) to use any
         publicly available computer? 

       * Materials to give out at new faculty/staff orientation. (Bob)

   - Network Control Room (Wellfleet, servers, etc.)

   - Credit for 2Gb drive returned.  (Dave) 

   - Flagg Classroom update.  (Dave)

   - Wiring the "dorms" project.  (Bob)



5.  Planning

   - Important goals for 95-96:
       *  IMAP email server before 9/1/95 
       *  Moving VMS email users to our Unix mail server.
       *  28.8 modems for LanRovers.

   - Voice services plan.     (Bob/Brenda)

   - Our roles for network problems< and how/when
     to alert campus of problems with network services:

       * backup role for Justin's role and David's role.
       * Brenda's role as information clearinghouse and her backup.
