1. Next meeting: Wednesday, 7/5 @ 9am 2. Meeting Goals for today: - Review minutes/assignments made last week (6/9) * x4000 Data Entry Form Bob and Justin have not met on this yet. Brenda reported that 5 more entries were made since her last report. * Wiring the "dorms" project. Bob will follow through with ISD on establishing the infrastructure in preparation for wiring the residences. Carm talked to Claude Adair (Chipcom) and he estimated $50/tap for labor. * Moving Wellfleet router to Kellas/Kellas Control Room Carm estimates that there are about 50 phone lines available for modems in Kellas. The Wellfleet will need 2 pairs for the T1 it uses. He will make a proposal to move the Wellfleet and the campus file servers to the "control room" (downstairs of Kellas). We'll need bookshelves and a filing cabinet to accomodate manuals, etc. * "Dorm Damage Report". Carm, Brenda and Bob will meet on 6/20 to discuss this and report on it at the next meeting (7/5). - SUNYNet weekend coverage. SUNYNet will be provided with the following list of names to contact on weekends/holidays in the order listed: 1. Bob Jewett 2. Justin Sipher 3. Carmen Casolara 4. Garnet Barrigar 5. Dave Brouwer 6. Brenda Bennett 3. What's Important to accomplish by next week? 4. Status Reports: - Establishing a new seed router Bob contacted Shiva about their recommendation on using one of our FastPaths as a seed router. They recommended not using an older FastPath since they are not reliable. One of the Shiva engineers will contact us about more specific recommendations. - Feedback card ("How are we doing?") Brenda gave us another copy of the feedback card that AT&T uses and suggested we adopt it for our own use. For example, it could be used for customers to tell us how we did on an installation; an add/move/change; a repair. Bob will present this idea at the next Supervisor's Team meeting. - Shiva LANRover problems/update. Still down to one (1) LanRover. Garnet found one of the modems had a bad setting (port #6). - 2Gb drive for News server. Dave said that he is waiting until the new Sun workstation arrives before troubleshooting the 2Gb drive. - Flagg Classroom update. Dave reports that IP routing has not been implemented yet, but that he and Mike have a plan in place for implementing it. 5. Planning - Important goals for 95-96: (Bob) * IMAP email server before 9/1/95 * Moving VMS email users to our Unix mail server. * 28.8 modems for LanRovers. - "Intuity" proposal. (Brenda) - Our roles for network problems and how/when to alert campus of problems with network services: * backup role for Justin's role and David's role. * Brenda's role as information clearinghouse and her backup. * how to program (record messages) for the HOTLINE (x2884)
