Goals/Priorites to meet < 8/28/95
- HELPDESK operational:
- documentation for DCTM technology/services available in print; on Web
- location and setup of HELPDESK operation established and setup
- procedures/process for operating/managing HELPDESK established and ready.\
- New employee/student email accounts established.
- Voice services for new employees and students ready:
- Adds/moves/changes completed.
- student voice-mail auto-attendants recorded for 2400 students.
- Workshops on HTML, Internet services and word-processing organized and scheduled for students and employees.
- Student Technology Survey prepared and distributed.
- 4D database updated.
- Special programming channel ("movie channel") moved to Chan. 3 and ready
- Network Operations Control room setup and equipment moved to it (includes servers, the Wellfleet and a switching hub).
- Dial-in (remote access) documented and installation process automated.
- Mac SE computers installed in Crane.
- Crane computer hard-drives partioned.
- Levitt Center computers checked over and ready for use.
- Internet applications installed or updated on all appropriate student comptuers in labs/centers.
- Printing policies for 95-96 established and clearly articulated to all staff and DCTM student assistants.
- New video projection systems installed in Kellas lecture halls.
- Hi-tech meeting room renovations completed.
- Stowell 211 projection system replaced and bunker installed
- Carson 101 computer classroom renovations completed and equipment installed.
- New employee computers installed.
- Flagg computer classroom renovations completed, equipment installed and network routing completed.
- WWW documents completed:
- Student Technology Guide
- "Introduction to Information Technology at SUNY Potsdam" HTML document completed. [link]
- HELPDESK materials/documentation completed.
- Prepared for Orientation '95
- Employee directory update form distributed.
- Establish campus network baseline activity levels.
- Desktop Computing Team established and operational.
- Student tasks and process for hiring/training student assistants established
