Assisting with/authoring grant appliations for equipment/software/services
Office tasks
Maintain office supplies.
Track equipment/resources loaned out/sent for repairs.
Planning/Development tasks
Evaluate current technology and upgrade needs of our customers and partners.
Maintain contacts with major vendors.
Stay abreast of and track industry trends/developments.
Conduct literature review and research for projects and proposals.
Plan for new technologies, external/internal changes (e.g., SUNYCard,
wireless, PDAs, etc).
Attend and participate in Master Plan meetings.
All information technology purchases coordinated by DCTM developed and
prepared to maximize their value to the campus.
Arrange and coordinate equipment/software brokering (arranging swaps and
trades).
Public Relations/Showcasing tasks
Presentations made for admissions, Benefits Fair, teacher groups, alumni.
Provide tours of campus telecommunications network facilities as requested.
Present accomplishments and projects at professional conferences
(e.g., FACT, SUNY Technology Confernence, Educom, ACUTA, etc.)
Projects
Develop and customize departmental/office automation projects (e.g.,
Admissions)
SUNY collaboration projects (e.g., Plattsburgh)
Public Service
Annual Fund business volunteer
Give tours to off-campus visitors
Staff Development
Attend technical seminars, workshops on technology
Training
Develop, plan and schedule training on hardware, software, campus services,
etc. for students, faculty/staff
Reservations for training sessions, sign-in lists of participants, and
evaluations by participants of the training sessions
Conduct training sessions for students, faculty, staff
Coordinate and provide Brown-bag presentations.
Develop specialized training materials (ie. Student Worker Handbook, etc.)
for information/training of student workers.
Non-Departmental tasks
Participate in off-campus committees, workgroups as a representative of
the department.
Write letters of recommendation for students, colleagues.
Building Administrator for Carson Hall.
Building Administrator for Kellas Hall.
Participate on Campus-Parking committee.
Complete call-in and written vendor surveys/questionnaires.
