Guidelines for Posting Public Information (Web,
InfoChannel, etc...)
Return to Department
Policies...
The primary purposes of our public information services
(InfoChannel, web pages, etc.) is to provide accurate, up-to-date
information about activities, to provide campus-based information
(e.g., registration) and to provide emergency information to the SUNY
Potsdam community (students, staff and faculty).
- DCTM reserves the right to refuse any materials submitted for
distribution. DCTM reserves the right to edit any materials
submitted for distribution.
- Non-university events will not be accepted for
distribution.
- Events at which the primary function is the consumption of
alcoholic beverages will not be accepted for distribution. This
would include any events scheduled at bars.
- Off-campus events sponsored by on-campus groups may be
accepted for distribution provided that they meet the above
guidelines (e.g., Crane concert at an off-campus local location).
Events which are too distant for the university community to
attend should not be submitted for distribution, though may be
posted to web pages (e.g., Crane concert in Albany).
- The affiliation of students, faculty and staff with
non-university organizations does not qualify those organizations
as having university status.
- DCTM may, at its discretion, choose to distribute selected
information about activities which occur at Clarkson University,
St. Lawrence University, Canton College of Technology, or which
are sponsored by the Associated Colleges of the St. Lawrence
Valley.
- While it is appropriate to provide information concerning
special events scheduled by PACES, distribution will be limited to
a notice of the event and not extensive price lists.
- Events which are illegal will not be accepted for distribution
(e.g., raffles).
- On-campus conferences which are intended for an off-campus
audience will not be accepted for distribution.
- Information on personal events (birthday, anniversaries,
births, etc.) will be accepted at the discretion of
DCTM.
