The email message below to Geri Linkins is in response to a question about Emeriti Faculty using the Levitt Center printers.
Geri,
We've faced this same question when non-emeriti faculty print to the Levitt printer. We have asked them to use their departmental printer for their work, *not* the Levitt printers. The supplies and equipment are all funded through the student technology fee and should be reserved for student use only--unless someone presents a laser-printing card from the Bookstore.
Though we don't have a formal policy on this, I would think the same would be true for faculty emeriti. They should print to their departmental printer, not the Levitt Center. Even if there is a reason they can't use their departmental printer, they shouldn't be using the Levitt printer. They could come to our Helpdesk and we could work with them on a case-by-case basis. The concern I have is what they printing; is it personal, or is it within the scope of services/resources our campus provides to its emeriti?
Kathy/Peter--any thoughts or concerns about this issue?
...Bob
