AGENDA:
1. Review progress on:
- web editing/publishing (Bob)
- The DCTM web-strategy team is about to make (RSN) a
recommendation on the basis of their discussions.
- Cross-platform calendar/scheduling project (see FMPro item)
- Eudora Planner. Windows version installed; Mac beta will be
ready to install this week.

- Members of BearFacts are looking at "conferencing/chat"
programs on the Web to see which ones we would like to adopt as
a campus.
- Wilda Sutfliffe may recommend a system (ACT) and demo it in
an upcoming brown-bag
- Faculty-oriented facilty project (see FMPro item)
- There has been an offer from Tektronix to provide us with a
"free" color laser printer. It had been suggested that if we
had a faculty facility, that would be a place to put such a
printer. However, there are many more questions about the
"free" printer that need answers. Doug will talk to the School
of Education about whether they want to pursue this or
not.
2. Timeline/strategies for Life-cycle project
- Review notes
(3/2/98)
- Review/finalize timetable based upon Doug's timetable outline
- next meeting (3/30/98)
3. Software to be included in lifecycle budget
- Notes
from 2/17/98 meeting
- Notes
from 3/2/98 meeting
- Server replacement as part of
lifecycle budget ($100K portion)
- It was suggested that departmental servers be replaced as
part of the cycle of replacing employee computers in the
department. Deparments should justify their need for a
deparmental server as they do for other computing resources.
- We should replace the Crane server this year since this
is their life-cycle replacement year.
- Dave and Justin and will develop a 3-year plan for all
DC/TM servers.
4. Issues to be addressed:
